Glory Days: A Bruce Springsteen Symposium

—by , September 22, 2009

Who would’ve thought that after spending hours on readings of Jonathan Swift’s obsession with feces, scholars would choose to do their dissertations on Bruce Springsteen. Why not? He’s The Boss! Bringing hundreds of historians, musicologists, and journalists to the 2005 symposium, it has been brought back to show how Springsteen has made his way from little venues in Asbury Park to the syllabi of college courses across the USA. The symposium is on the campus of Monmouth University and at the Sheraton Eatontown Center. The conference will go from Sept. 25 to Sept. 27 presenting 130 papers and videos and will have performances by Gary “U.S” Bonds, Joe Grushecky, and many others. cpe.vt.edu/glorydays.
