Lexappeall: Mae, AFI, Dashboard, Brand New & More

My BFF Nicky gave me a huge scare last week! She got in a car accident and she’s all bumped, bruised and cut. I guess it could have been worse, and I’m glad she was even able to walk away from it. Cars have been giving me bad vibes lately—not cool!

Quick recap of shows this past week—Mae blew my mind this Saturday! Their intro was out of this world! Top 5 shows I’ve been to all year, hands down. The Higher was alright and I won’t talk about the VFW show.

As for this weekend, it’s super busy for me! AFI on Friday with V-dub, and I’m secretly looking forward to their performance. Saturday is going to be great. I’ll be hanging out with my friends in The Word Alive, Dr. Acula and My Arcadia. Let the beer flow. Good friends, good music, good times. I’ll also be checking out one of our OTV bands, Sherazada that night. Can’t wait!

Even though the Dashboard Confessional tour has been cancelled, John and Chris of Dashboard Confessional, and an entire acoustic New Found Glory, will be playing Highline Ballroom Dec. 11. Go check that out if you were planning on going to the three Nokia Theater dates.

If you’re not going to the Brand New hometown show at Nassau Coliseum, you’re probably a loser. The line up is so sick, even I am excited for it. Brand New, Glassjaw, Thrice, Manchester Orchestra and Kevin Devine… Awesome! All staples to my music collection. The Aquarian team will be on-site working so make sure you stop by and say hey!

Don’t forget—bands, enter for our Bands On the Verge contest! The entries have been great so far! Keep ‘em coming!

See you around.
