Maxwell: The Garden Gets Soul

In the early-’90s when R&B singer Maxwell recorded his first album, Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite, Columbia Records kept it on the shelf. The album was released two years later in 1996, and it instantly went platinum. Maxwell took a break from the music industry between 2001 and 2009, and was still able to come back with a bang with his 2009 release, BLACKsummer’snight which debuted at number one on the Billboard Albums Top 100 chart.
