In 2009, performing guitarist Damon Marks created The Traveling Guitar Foundation; a non-profit organization that helps fund music education in public schools. TGF has donated guitar kits and other instruments to underprivileged schools, in addition to holding workshops for the children to practice on their skills. On Wednesday, Dec. 15 the foundation, with the help of Bergen Community College, will hold a very special event to raise money for their cause.
Come Together: A Tribute to John Lennon will feature both BCC Students and professional musicians from NJ and NY, and will be hosted by Marks himself along with Q104.3 FM on-air personality Maria Milito. Tickets are only $15 ($10 for BCC students) and all proceeds go directly to The Traveling Guitar Foundation. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Ender Hall Lab Theatre.
