Powerful, mysterious, deep and sultry; just four words to describe singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins’ voice. The Jersey native is gearing up to release her upcoming album Mondo Amore on Feb. 8. Atkins is touring with her band, The Black Sea, to support the new CD and will be performing at the Bowery Ballroom on Feb. 9. Coming from a diverse musical upbringing, Nicole Atkins’ style of music is a blend of psychedelic, folk and blues, which puts her in a genre of her own.
