Thao, of The Get Down Stay Down, and Mirah, who has previously collaborated with a number of guests on her five solo recordings, have sounds that can be enjoyed just fine individually, like peanut butter and chocolate. Now the two have finally pulled a Reese’s under the guidance of Merrill Garbus and fused their talents for their album, Thao & Mirah, featuring an eclectic mix of instruments, like bottles and knee caps, which, for the most part, the two take care of by themselves, as their eager vocals sing sincere poetry. Now they’re coming to Music Hall Of Williamsburg on June 8 with tickets going for $18 and doors opening at 8.

Terrible. Saw them in Austin together and half the show was good. Thao completely sucks with Mirah. I love Mirah’s slow songs and her voice primarily and this combination completely ruins that.
