Hitting the road solo this month is Eleanor Friedberger from the Fiery Furnaces promoting her debut solo record, Last Summer, set for release on July 12. Her solo work originally started when she and Matthew were working on their LP, I’m Going Away. Once they finished it, she realized she had a bunch of songs she had written in her spare time and decided to use them toward her debut. The record offers sweet melodies and ‘60s groove with storytelling lyrics describing her love of her hometown in Brooklyn. Check out the spontaneous front woman as she comes to South Street Seaport on July 16 for The Village Voice/4Knots Festival.
