The Doc Marshalls: Word Gets Around

With their versatile Cajun and country stylings, The Doc Marshalls have made a name for themselves as an astoundingly authentic Americana act. Their latest record, 2012’s Look Out Compadre, eschews most of the honky-tonk and shoots for a smoother neo-folk sound, but band leader Nick Beaudoing’s unshakable country-boy attitude is always at the forefront. In a world that seems all too eager to overlook the genre, The Doc Marshalls preach it proudly. They will perform at Rodeo Bar in Manhattan on April 17.
