Gold Panda: Plucky Shiner

The new album from DJ Gold Panda displays the same funky electronic music as his 2010 debut, Lucky Shiner. Called Half Of Where You Live, the 11-song record has mostly instrumental tunes occasionally accented with single-word vocals replayed for the entire chorus. His distinctive sound is created by featuring samples of acoustic-stringed instruments as well as traditional techno beats. Gold Panda will be playing at Webster Hall in New York City on Oct. 11 and at Union Transfer in Philadelphia on Oct. 13.
