Svetlana & The Delancey Five: Prohibition-Era Jazz Into ’30s Swing

—by , June 21, 2016

Svetlana & The Delancey Five is one of the most unique combos around. The Russian chanteuse fronts a hotly smoking unit that will, as part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival on June 24, pay tribute to the 60th Anniversary of the release of Ella and Louis (Verve Records). Svetlana will be singing Fitzgerald as special guest trumpeter Wycliffe Gordon blows some Armstrong. With two shows—7:30 and 9:30—Lucille’s Bar & Grill, located inside BB King’s Blues Club, 247 West 42nd Street NYC, will be hoppin’ and a boppin’. Svetlana is the real deal.
