Statelman

Rock / Progressive / Alternative
Sayreville, NJ

After years of paying their dues as a completely independent band, Statelman—formed in July of 2006—has managed to make their mark as something unique in the New Jersey music scene. After landing their first record deal, Statelman is poised to continue shaking things up.

Valhalla

Classic Rock
Montville, NJ

What sets Valhalla apart is their desire to perform and to please their audience. Five guys who met by accident (even though they all live only a mile apart from each other and go to the same high school), they all love Zeppelin and live off a street called Valhalla, hence the name. Two brothers, two cousins and a good friend, you’d think Valhalla does everything together, but in fact, they only come together in the common cause of music.

Until Faces Change

Melodic Post-Hardcore
Middlesex County, NJ

Until Faces Change formed in early May 2009 and have been playing shows throughout Jersey since. The quintet has already appeared at the School Of Rock and The Stone Pony. They’re currently planning a tour for this upcoming summer, planning to reach ears far beyond New Jersey.

287

Rock / Alternative / Punk
Northern NJ

287’s original songs are backdropped by classic hard rock riffs, alt/punk chords, power choruses and driving lyrics about navigating the intersection of a “social networking” culture and the ever changing teenage world.

Varcella

Post Hardcore / Rock / Experimental
Chesapeake, VA

Varcella is a hard rock group who have proven themselves with a fantastic live show and fun, energetic music that has been quoted to “kick you in the teeth and not let up until it’s over.” Their debut EP was released in September 2009 and is available on iTunes and Smartpunk.com.

Jon Gambino

Acoustic
Butler, NJ

Over the past few years, Jon Gambino has become New Jersey’s diamond in the rough. His original music has captured the hearts of audiences all over the tri-state area and his approach to live music is turning heads everywhere. 2010 marks the beginning of national tours and the first official release of an EP, out this summer

Lights In Lost Skies

Pop / Rock
Blairstown, NJ

With sights set high and failure not an option, Lights In Lost Skies is moving forward in the world with their catchy pop-rock. “At the end of the day, it’s all for the fans and the feedback we get back. It’s a beautiful and indescribable feeling to express yourself through music and have it touch someone else as much as it touched you.”

After Edmund

Alternative / Rock
Georgia

Since the release of their 2008 national debut disc, Hello, After Edmund scored mounds of critical kudos, toured from coast to coast and amassed a swelling fan base. Amidst those adventures, the group scored a highly coveted Grammy nomination (subsequently strutting down the red carpet in style while hanging with members of Death Cab For Cutie and Metallica), and opened up for Linkin Park’s famed Projekt Revolution tour, while also scoring radio singles “Like A Dream,” “Fighting For Your Heart (Let It Go)” and “Clouds.”

Kids Of Survival

Powerpop / Indie / Rock
New York, NY

The last year has been an exciting one for Kids Of Survival: FOX News used their song “My Addiction” to promote their Good Morning L.A. show; they played 2009’s NJ Bamboozle Festival and they passed six million plays on their MySpace site. From Buchanan, GA, to Los Angeles and everywhere in-between, KoS have sold out shows and drawn fans. After opting out of an early record deal with a small label, they chose to remain independent. They are now touring with Deliver The Message and are already writing new music for a third full-length CD.

Sunset Atlantic

Pop / Rock / Power-Pop
New Hartford, NY

Formerly known as The Doppler Effect, Sunset Atlantic is a six-piece band comprised of nerdy dudes who are obsessed with playing music. They’ve shared the stage with Hit The Lights, Every Avenue, We The Kings and Metro Station and recorded their debut EP, Just Dance, with producers Kenneth Mount and Zack Odom (Mayday Parade, Cartel, All Time Low) at Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta, GA. Stopping at nothing to make their dreams a reality, look for a full-length release from Sunset Atlantic this summer.

Sexy Heroes

Punk / Pop Punk / Alternative
Bergen County, NJ

In a world of serious and sullen musicians, one band shines through the gloom to bring a new attitude to the music scene—Sexy Heroes. With their eccentric lyrics about pirates and video game princesses, you wont soon forget this electric yellow band.
