New Jersey six-piece progressive unit Cypher Seer will be opening for home-state thrash titans OverKill at the Best Buy Theater in NYC on April 16 as part of a massive bill of classic metal that also features Sabaton and Accept. Cypher Seer’s sound, topped off by the soaring vocals of Zeno Rodrigo, is sure to stand up to the steel of the ages, as the band blends power metal theatrics, thrashing riffs, Euro-styled keys and prog technicality. If you go, make sure you pick up Cypher Seer’s new record, Origins, which was produced by Fredrik Nordstrom (In Flames, etc.), from the merch table. Doors at 6 p.m., tickets $30.
