Diamond Rugs are playing a free show at the Central Park Summerstage on June 24. The band is a collaboration between members of Deer Tick, The Black Lips, Six Finger Satellite, Los Lobos and Dead Confederate. What started off as musicians helping friends quickly turned into a serious side-project. In April, their self-titled debut album was released. This unexpected group of musicians has created an enjoyable indie rock record. Central Park’s free event starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. Other acts include Alabama Shakes and Robert Ellis.
