Jack Antonoff Releases Single, “Alfie’s Song (Not Your Typical Love Song)”

Jack Antonoff has released a new single, “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song),” under his solo project Bleachers, the first since last year’s release of his album, Gone Now.

“Alfie’s Song” boasts a (seemingly) automated drum beat, driving an upbeat, yet nostalgic — yes, you guessed it — “not so typical love song.” Antonoff, — who recently confirmed his split from his girlfriend of five years, Lena Dunham — emphatically croons, “How I loved those days we didn’t get out of bed/Left your taste in my mouth, your strange voice in my head,” and later features some Springsteen-esque saxophone, true to his Jersey roots.

The single is set for the soundtrack of the upcoming young adult dram-edy, Love, Simon, which also features three other Bleachers’ songs, plus tracks from The 1975, and Whitney Houston among others.

Love, Simon and its soundtrack are both set for release on Mar. 16.
