Never Shout Never: Never Left Unsaid

And how’s your relationship with your fans because I guess now you have a lot more than before?

I guess so. I feel like it’s pretty good. I don’t really know. I try to let them know everything that’s going on and I try to be completely, 100 percent honest with them about everything, about things I do. I don’t want to be a fake to them at all. I try to let them know everything that’s going on and whenever I write new songs, I like to tell them about it. And every night before I go to bed, I like to post a bulletin just telling everybody that I love them and things like that. I’ve been working on it and trying to get everybody happy and things like that, but I feel like it’s okay.

A lot of bands and artists, once they start doing more, they have other people manage their websites and their MySpaces. Is that true for you?

No, no, I’m not into that. Because if the kids feel like they’re talking to, you shouldn’t have somebody else post something, you know what I mean? I feel really strongly about me controlling things and if I’m not controlling something, then being straight up about it because the fans need to know everything that’s going on or else they’re going to feel betrayed if they find out about something they felt like was true.

So when can are you going back into the studio to finish the album?

I think up in August. We’re touring pretty hard so we have to find a little break, but I think we’re going in August to finish it up.

And are you going to be touring again after that or are you going to take a break for a little while?

I’m sure we are going to be touring. We try to tour 90 percent of the year. We’re trying to really work hard for a while, and then it might get easier later.

Have you toured outside of the States yet?

No, I haven’t. I’m really excited to. I go to Japan in a little while, and I want to do some Canada dates as well. I think that’d be really cool.

And you’ve also been doing festival dates and you’re on Warped Tour this year?

Yeah, we’re on a week or 10 days or something, I don’t know. Yeah, we’re doing a couple days, which will be pretty fun, but I don’t think we’re punk rock enough for that. I’m totally 100 percent supportive of the punk rock Warped Tour. I’m sick of all these crappy bands playing Warped Tour and I feel like I’m one of them. I feel like I’m one of those hated bands because I’m acoustic music. I wish I had a punk band or something to play.
