Following the heated departure of their only male member, indie-electro group CSS, hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, released their new album, Planta, on June 11. Produced by TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek, it has an electro-punk sound very similar to that of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ It’s Blitz!, another product of Sitek’s production. They will be playing an 18+ show at the Bowery Ballroom on July 8 for $25 and a 21+ show at the Brooklyn Bowl on July 9 for $15. Doors are at 8 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. Expect plenty of quirky girlpunk action.
