Country folk duo Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent of Shovels And Rope are bringing their unique sound to New York. Hearst’s raspy vocals paired with Trent’s strong harmonies make for a dynamic live show. Their newest release, O’ Be Joyful, is a compilation of loud and crazy country tunes and slow folk songs. The twang of Cary Ann and the softness of Michael mix well together. Shovels And Rope are playing at the Mercury Lounge in New York on Aug. 23. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $12.
