Gabriel Hurley is a fighter. After losing his eyesight and almost his life because of a careless driver in 2009, Hurley is using his passion for music as a way to tell his story. Starting in 2011, he began working to share his experience with teenagers across New Jersey. He is an advocate for safe driving, and hopes to remind people to take nothing for granted. Hurley will be receiving a special award as part of the annual Stop For Nikhil Run/Walk in West Orange, NJ, on Sept. 22. His band, The New Black, will also be performing.
