Deer Tick: A Parasitic Performance

Deer Tick has changed significantly over the years. Originally, the Rhode Island indie band had only one official member, John McCauley. Today, the highly successful group is composed of five talented individuals. Deer Tick, so-named because of an encounter McCauley had with the parasite, has emerged as a prominent band in the indie and blues scene. They are known for playing an eclectic mix of covers, as well as their own original creations. Deer Tick will be celebrating the New Year with their Dec. 31 show at Brooklyn Bowl with Virgin Forest. Doors open at 6 p.m.; tickets are $45.
