Made famous for her Oscar-nominated performance of “Pi’s Lullaby” from the movie Life Of Pi, Indian singer Bombay Jayashri will soon appear at Carnegie Hall. She combines both Carnatic, or Southern Indian music, and Hindustani, which is from Northern India, to create a unique personal style. Her concert will be the first time a Carnatic singer has played at Carnegie Hall since 1977. This rare show will take place on Oct. 20.
