Governors Ball: A Weekend Of Art

Governors Ball is a three-day event that showcases today’s best music, art, and entertainment. It takes place in Randall’s Island Park in NYC from June 7 to June 9. Those participating in the event vary across different genres including dance, indie rock, hip-hop, Americana, electronica and pop. On Friday, June 7, Kings Of Leon, Erykah Badu, Beach House, Young The Giant and Dinosaur Jr. are among the various acts that will take the stage. Saturday, June 8, will see veterans like Guns N’ Roses and Nas, along with younger acts such as Animal Collective, Kendrick Lamar and others. The event will come to a close on Saturday, June 9. Artists to perform include The XX, Kanye West, Grizzly Bear, The Lumineers and The Avett Brothers. Along with these different performances, there will also be various activities available to attendees. These include a silent disco, ping-pong and a life-sized Connect-4, amongst others. This is the third year in a row the festival will take place since its debut in 2011. With more space than ever before, attendees will have more area to spread out during the festivities. There will be new additions including La Sonrisa Empanadas, Bare Burger and Num Pang Sandwich Shop to fill you up during the shows. Other food trucks and restaurants will be on the site throughout the weekend, so fans can eat favorites like Coolhaus Ice Cream, Luke’s Lobster, Asia Dog and more.
