Dave Shuford of the No Neck Blues Band (aka D. Charles Speer) has formed a new psychedelic rock project with Jimy SeiTang of Psychic Ills and Spencer Herbst of Messages. Under the moniker Rhyton, they plan to release their self-titled debut record this January on Thrill Jockey Records. The majority of the group’s material is improvised, providing for all kinds of experimentation. They’ll be playing at Death By Audio in Brooklyn on Nov. 27 with the likes of Cross, Phantom Family Hero and Street Gnar. Tickets $7; doors at 9 p.m.
