23-year-old Kasey Smith was discovered on MySpace by J.R. Rotem, who has produced hits by Rihanna, Sean Kingston and Jason Derülo. Performing under the name Romance On A Rocketship, Smith has produced catchy, pop melodies that encompass music’s two most relatable themes: Love and heartbreak. R.O.A.R. has an eclectic group of influences, drawing inspiration from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. He will be performing at Mexicali Live in Teaneck on Jan. 26, along with The Scene Aesthetic and Plug In Stereo. Tickets are $12; doors open at 6 p.m.
